Luis and I want to sincerely thank everyone for the outpouring of support throughout our journey.
We didn’t fight this cancer alone – we did it with the love and support of our family and friends — and some people we didn’t even know!
THANK YOU for the cards, letters, gifts, money, gift cards, phone calls, Facebook comments, and everything! It means the world to us.
Now that I’m in remission, there is still help needed.
PRAYER + POSITIVE THOUGHTS
Luis and I both believe in the power of prayer and positive thinking- and we could still use both!
Oncologists don’t use the word “CURE” until Hodgkin’s Lymphoma has been gone for a period of 5 years. Until then, I’ll be going to regular follow-ups and scans to make sure that this ugly blood cancer stays gone.
So when you you think of us, I hope you’ll send us some good vibes and maybe a prayer for continued health!
FINANCIAL
We accepted many types of financial gifts throughout the last six months from family and friends.
We are now financially stable and back on our feet – and we want to be sure to help others fighting cancer in every way we can. This will include financial. We want to do some research on the best charities, and then we’ll update here.
We were lucky to have a good health insurance plan to cover the vast majority of our costs related to care. Some people aren’t so lucky, and I know we want to help in that area the most.
I’ll also blog on volunteer opportunities we plan to take part in, or anything for which we may raise funds.
BE THE MATCH
If you haven’t already signed up to be a Bone Marrow Donor — please consider doing so. It’s so easy, and it could save a life.
You literally just have to swap the inside of your cheek to get registered. No pain! Takes less than a minute.
